The police, together with the authorities, carried out increased traffic policing and migration control. In recent days, the Szabolcs-Szatmár-Bereg County Police Headquarters carried out a comprehensive traffic policing operation in this area of the M3 highway, in joint cooperation with partner authorities. The Szabolcs police directed the drivers and their passengers to the Kálmánház rest area, where they checked the validity of the documents, the use of passive safety devices and the technical condition of the vehicles.
In the case of foreigners, the legality of their stay in Hungary was also checked. The staff of the Road Vehicle Transport Office, Magyar Közút Nzrt, the Vármegyei Disaster Management Directorate and the National Tax and Customs Office also took part in the inspection. The police issued warnings for minor traffic violations in four cases and issued on-the-spot fines in thirty-two cases. In the case of two persons, a violation report was filed.
Administrative fines were imposed thirty-three times for failure to use passive safety devices. We draw the attention of drivers to the fact that compliance with traffic rules is essential in order to prevent accidents.
