The Croatian motorway vignette

If you are planning your next beach vacation by car this year, it is worth taking into account tolls, in addition to gasoline, insurance and parking fees, among the travel costs. The total cost of these depends on how long the neighboring highways are used for. We will help you calculate how much it will cost to use the Croatian highway this year! As soon as we cross the Croatian-Hungarian border (where there will be no border control this year either), we immediately find ourselves on the Croatian highway, which consists of 11 toll sections. If we start from Budapest towards the coast, we first have to pay for the Letenye - Zagreb section, which costs 5.8 euros at the toll gate.

How much we still have to pay for using the highway depends on our destination. One way to reduce the toll is to get an ENC device (electronic toll payment device), which is attached to the inside of the windshield. This device makes using the motorway a little cheaper, as the toll gates automatically detect and open the barriers. In addition, there is a separate lane at the gates for ENC device users, so we can save money and time. We have two pieces of good news regarding Croatian highways. First of all, according to Croatiainfo, Croatian tolls will not increase this year, i.e. last year's prices will remain in effect.

Secondly, it looks like this year will be the last time we see toll gates on Croatian highways, as next year only electronic payment will be in effect, for example with the help of an application that will automatically deduct the user fee at the toll gates.
